Temple Police arrest four in connection to late night robbery

Temple Police have arrested four people connected to a late night aggravated robbery.

It happened on Thursday night at 10:37 p.m., Temple Police were called to a report of a man with a gun.

The report then changed to a robbery that had just occurred and the victims were following the suspects in the area of South 51st Street.

Temple Police found two vehicles matching the descriptions provided by the victim.

Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the suspect(s) refused to stop the vehicle. Officers pursued the suspect vehicle and reported that a handgun had been thrown from the vehicle in the 1200 block of South 49th Street.

Additional officers went to the area and recovered the semiautomatic handgun.

The suspect vehicle continued to flee the officers but eventually stopped at the intersection of 45th Street and Avenue M where the driver stopped the vehicle.

Police arrested Patrick O'Neal Johnson, 19, Jeremy Michael Oaties, 27, Deontavius D'tarris Griffin, 26, and Matthew Diaz, 18, of Temple.

All four men were taken to Bell County Jail and set at a bond of $150,000 each.
