Temple Police locate man wanted for aggravated assault in Killeen

A tip to Crime Stoppers late Saturday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a man wanted for an aggravated assault.

On Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 2:00 a.m., officers were called to the 4800 block of Peppermill Hollow for a call about an assault.

On arrival, officers found the victim who told them he was assaulted by a black male acquaintance.

The victim also told officers that the suspect then ran out of the house and fled the area.

Through further investigation, officers were able to identify the person responsible for this assault.

Officials were looking for Carlos Derell Collins Jr., 27, who was wanted for aggravated assault.

Crime Stoppers received the tip late Saturday afternoon that Collins was at a hotel in Temple, Texas.

When Temple Police arrived on scene, they arrested Collins.

Collins is currently in Killeen City Jail waiting for arraignment.
