JEFFERSON COUNTY, TEXAS (KBMT) -- A 69-year-old woman has been indicted after sheriff's deputies say she tried to use a Bible to smuggle drugs into the Jefferson County jail.

Carolyn Hebert Frioux, 69, of Fannett, went to visit her daughter in jail back in July. When deputies inspected the Bible she was carrying, they say they found meth.

The Jefferson County Grand Jury this week handed up a one-count indictment charging Frioux with possession of a prohibited substance in a correctional facility.

Frioux was booked then released after posting $8,000 bond.
