Texas Rangers investigate after local deputy shoots wanted man

GROESBECK -- The Texas Rangers are investigating after a Limestone County Sheriff's Deputy shot a wanted man during an arrest.

Thursday afternoon the deputy was attempting to arrest 41-year-old Steven Thompson on a burglary warrant.

A struggle ensued and after trying to tase Thompson the deputy shot him.

He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
