WACO -- The third murder of the year in Waco, and it started over a parking spot.

Waco police tell us it happened on the 1000 block of Preston in East Waco, when 42-year-old Anthony Johnson was visiting his girlfriend and saw Richard Watson, 54, parked in front of his girlfriend's home.

They argued over the spot but Watson eventually left and then returned on his bike with a gun.

"There was an exchange of gunfire between the two and Mr. Watson came out on the victim end of that where he was shot several times," Sgt. Patrick Swanton with the Waco Police Department said.

Police found Watson riding his bike about a block away from the scene.

He later died from several gunshot wounds to the upper torso.

Johnson has been charged with murder and now sits behind bars in the McLennan County Jail.
