Third person arrested in South Waco burglaries

The Waco Police Department has made a third arrest in connection with string burglarized that occurred in South Waco over the past few months.
Calvin Earl Jones, 21, has been charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and burglary of a habitation.

According to Sgt. Patrick Swanton, with the Waco Police Department, an initial apprehension of Alex Fuentes,19, in March, led to the arrest of Marisol Rebollar, 17, and Jones.
Together, the three individuals burglarized homes and vehicles stealing IPads, clothes and other items of value, said Swanton.
The 21-year-old's is currently held at McLennan County Jail. His bond has been set at 20,000.

Officers approached Alex Fuentes Jr. in the parking lot of an apartment complex located in the 1100 of Speight Avenue around 7 p.m. on May 14. Officials say they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle as they went to confront Fuentes before he drove off. Fuentes stopped shortly after and attempted to run but was stopped rather quickly by police. Authorities reportedly found marijuana and stolen property in Fuentes' vehicle while arresting him.

Fuentes has been charged with evading arrest, possession of marijuana, and burglary of a habitation.
