A Bellmead toddler drowned after wandering from his bed Tuesday night.

According to Bellmead police, at approximately 8:40 p.m. on September 3, Bellmead Police and Bellmead Fire Personnel were dispatched to the 5200 block of Concord Road for a report of an unresponsive child. When officers and fire personnel arrived, CPR was being performed by a family member.

The child was identified as Henry Lord, 2, from Bellmead. It was later learned that the family members were all swimming together earlier that day and had gone in for the evening, getting ready for bed. The child (Henry) was tucked into bed as dinner was being prepared for the other children in the home. The family noticed that Henry was quiet, and so they went to his room to check on him.

That is when they noticed he was not in bed, and they all started to look for him. Henry was found outside in the swimming pool unresponsive. Family members pulled Henry out of the water and performed CPR, notifying 911. When emergency personnel arrived, Henry was not breathing and was unresponsive. The child was transported to Hillcrest where he was later pronounced deceased by the Justice of the Peace, Pete Peterson.

The house was occupied by three adults and two children at the time of incident. The father of the child is a volunteer fire fighter and identified as Timothy Lord. The mother of the child is identified as Jessica Lord, both of Bellmead.

No autopsy was ordered by the JP. No foul play is suspected and is being ruled as an accidental drowning.
