Trial for 15-year-old murder case delayed again

The trial for a 15-year-old murder case that was postponed last week has been pushed back again due to confusion about a plea agreement back in 2002.

James Earl Williams is accused of a 1998 drive-by shooting.

The defense argues Williams was dismissed of this case in exchange for pleading guilty to assault and robbery in connection to the shooting. A district judge has now ruled that Williams' attorneys have until September 23 to seek a ruling from the 10th Court of Appeals on whether or not the plea agreement dismissed Williams of the murder charge.
