COLLEGE STATION, Tx (KYLE) — Two of College Station's finest were honored Thursday by the state.
Detectives Andrew Murph and Travis Lacox were given the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Achievement Award of Valor for their actions taken during the Fidelity Street shooting last August.
It's the highest award in law enforcement in Texas.
Both men were some of the first officers to respond to the scene on August 13, 2012. Risking their lives, the two were able to put a stop to the gunfire by taking the shooter down.
Constable Brian Bachmann and civilian, Chris Northcliffe, were killed in the shoot-out.
Assistant Police Chief Brandy Norris nominated the two men.
