Two hour standoff leads to arrest in Killeen

A two hour stand off leads to the arrest of a Killeen man Saturday.

Killeen Police were called to the 1100 block of Leslie Circle around 2:49 p.m for a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, neighbors told police that a female was screaming and trying to leave the residence when the man pulled her back inside. She also appeared to be injured.

Police attempted to make contact with the 23 year old man but he refused to answer the door. Officers were also told that there was a possible weapon involved.

After many attempts to talk to the him, authorities called in Killeen's Tactical Response Unit.

When the team arrived, they spoke with the suspect for two hours. The team made negotiations with him and he complied with Response Units orders.

He was taken into custody without incident.

The victim was treated by paramedics and taken to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The name of the man has not yet been released.
