West, TX — The Texas Farm Bureau has donated more than $173,000 to the city of West to help cover the cost of a new ambulance and park, which will honor the first responders who died in the April fertilizer explosion.
Last weekend, "Parker's Project" raised more than $80,000 alone. The project was spearheaded by the son of one of the explosion victims.
The city plans to rebuild the park, which is merely feet from the blast site. In its re-emergence, the park will include an area to honor the fallen first responders.
