UPDATE: Motorcycle-involved wreck on Hwy 6 sends 3 to hospital

Officials tell KWKT that three people were taken to a local hospital after today's two-vehicle wreck on Highway 6.

The accident involving a motorcycle and car happened around noon near University Drive.

Police say a motorcycle and car collided, forcing both vehicles off the road. Two people were thrown from the motorcycle, and the driver sustained a serious head injury.

Both passengers of the car were taken to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

Authorities closed northbound lanes for several house to reconstruct the accident.


Original Story: KWKT is on the scene of major traffic accident that has shutdown half of Highway 6 near University Drive in College Station.

Northbound lanes are closed and southbound lane traffic is moving at a slow pace. Authorities are currently directing traffic to the feeder road. Driver are encouraged to avoid this area.

EMS crews are on the scene, but it is unclear if there are any injuries.
