Harker Heights — An early morning fire destroys a house in Harker Heights.
Fire officials say they received a call for help from the 2100 block of Modoc Drive around 2:02 a.m.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they found flames shooting from the roof and attic.
Crews were quickly able to begin fighting the fire and extinguished the majority of flames on the roof, but couldn't make it to the second story because the floor had collapsed. The fire was under control shortly before 3 a.m.
The homeowners had recently moved out of the house and it was vacant at the time of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
The fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
