Friday, November 9, 2012 - 5:32pm

The Public Improvement District of Waco is bringing Waco’s Downtown Tailgate Throwdown to Waco for the first time on Friday, November 16th at Heritage Square. This is a fun, family event that is free to the public and includes a community pep rally to cheer on our Baylor Bears as they take on Kansas State, a concert by Stoney LaRue, tailgating challenges, inflatables and lots of activities for children. “Our goal is to create fun, family-friendly activities in Downtown that will give you a chance to see the continued improvements,” says Tom Chase, Board of Directors Chairman for the Waco Public Improvement District #1.

Are you good enough to be named Waco’s best tailgater? Here’s your chance to prove it – enter the 2012 Tailgate Throwdown. There will be 4 divisions (individual, restaurant, college and non-profit) and 4 categories (starters, dips, meats and desserts). Visit www.wacosdowntowntailgatethrowdown.com for an entry form as well as all the rules.

Bring the whole family out for great attractions including face painting, football skills challenge, inflatables, climbing wall and a community pep rally featuring the Baylor Band, Baylor Cheerleaders and more!

A live concert featuring Stoney LaRue is also free! Stoney LaRue plays music that combines the rootsy, emotionally honest sound of country with heartland rock and a dash of the moody undercurrents of the blues.

To enjoy the Tailgate Throwdown in style, join the End Zone VIP Party. End Zone VIP Party tickets include a tented area near the entertainment stage, tailgate food, cash bar and a special gift. VIP tickets are $50 each and can be purchased at the Extraco Events Center Box Office or by calling 254-776-1660.
