Waco Friday trash pickup moves to Wednesday this week

Monday, June 30, 2014 - 11:26am

Waco citizens whose normal trash collection day is Friday will need to put their trash on the curb for collection this Wednesday, July 2. This Friday, July 4 is a City of Waco holiday, meaning city offices will be closed and Solid Waste Services will not run collection routes.

The change in schedule is very unusual since Friday customers rarely have their trash day moved. Mondays are most common, and these customers know that their trash will be picked up two days later.

The city’s trash “make-up day” is always Wednesday, so getting Friday’s customers to know to put their trash out two days early, when they almost never have a change, is unusual. If they miss their collection this Wednesday, it will be a week from this Friday before their trash will be collected again.
