A Waco man is behind bars after police officers linked him to a burglary that took place earlier this month.

According to Waco Police Department, Billy Azbell Dale, Jr., 31, of Waco is responsible for breaking into Azbell Communications and stealing several electronics on Oct 1.

Azbell was arrested Tuesday after officers executed a warrant, based off of confidential informant information and property recovered from the burglary. Officers believe Azbell stole electronics, including VCRs, desktop computers, and laptops.

On October 1, firefighters responded to a call in the 1800 block of Speight Avenue. When they arrived, they found a fire at Azbell Electronics, which they believed was intentionally set. Waco Police Department was called to the scene to investigate an apparent burglary. Arson investigators are looking into whether the fire was purposely set to cover up the burglary.

Azbell is being held at the McLennan County Jail on a $5,000 bond for burglary. There is also a motion to revoke his probation for a possession of a controlled substance charge without bond.
