Waco, Texas — A Waco man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to murder, an enhanced charge, Monday afternoon.
Julius Carter Lozano, 31, was arrested in Irving on July 23, 2012 on murder charges.
“The sentence in this case brings long overdue closure and justice to Josh Baldridge , his family, and friends,” said Assistant District Attorney Chris Bullajian of the sentencing.
According to Waco Police Department, the murder took place on Saturday, May 5, 2012, around 11:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Colonial Avenue. A party was going on inside of an apartment when Lozano reportedly came in and shot Joshua David Baldridge, 31, multiple times in the chest. Officials say the two had apparently been arguing earlier in the day.
Following the shooting, police say Lozano ran from the scene. He was eventually caught two months later in Irving.
