Waco MPO invites public to attend meetings regarding future transportation

The Waco Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is beginning the process of identifying transportation needs for Metropolitan Waco through the year 2040. The MPO staff has identified several challenges in meeting those needs and is requesting the help of interested persons before drafting the new MTP. The MPO staff would like to invite all interested persons to attend any of the following meetings to assist in the development of the new MTP.

Monday, May 5, 2014 - 6:00 p.m.
Hewitt Community Center - 208 Chama Dr

Thursday, May 8, 2014 – 6:00 p.m.
Lacy-Lakeview Civic Center - 505 East Craven Ave

Monday, May 12, 2014 – 6:00 p.m.
South Waco Community Center – 2815 Speight Ave

Thursday, May 15, 2014 – 12 noon
Dr. Mae Jackson Development Center – 401 Franklin Ave

Additional information regarding these meetings and the development of the MTP may be found online via the MPO website at www.waco-texas.com/cms-mpo or by calling the MPO offices at (254) 750-5651. Persons unable to attend one of these meetings and wish to submit written suggestions need to ensure delivery to MPO offices no later than June 15, 2014. Suggestions may be submitted by fax at (254) 750-1605, by e-mail to mpo@ci.waco.tx.us or by mail directed to Christopher Evilia at the following address:

In addition, the MPO will also be soliciting comments regarding a proposed amendment to the MPO Public Participation Plan (PPP) at these meetings. Interested persons may find more information regarding the PPP amendment via the MPO website at www.waco-texas.com/cms-mpo or by calling the MPO offices at (254) 750-5651.

Persons with disabilities who plan to attend these meetings and who may need auxiliary aids or services should contact the MPO at (254) 750-5651 at least twenty-four (24) hours before the respective meeting so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
