Waco PD: Overnight robberies may be related

Thursday evening at 9:55 p.m., officers responded to 1404 North 34th Street on reports of an aggravated robbery.

Witnesses told officers that a black male described wearing a black sweatshirt, green pants and displaying a handgun, entered the store and demanded money and merchandise from a clerk.

The suspect then fled on foot from the store. He was last seen headed towards New Road. 

The alleged robber was able to get an undetermined amount of money and some merchandise from the store.

Early Friday morning, at 5:15 a.m., officials responded to 3225 Hillcrest on reports of an aggravated robbery.

Officers were able to determine that a black male described as 6’0, thin build, with a dark hood covering his head and wearing gloves, dark sweatshirt and jeans entered the store displaying a handgun and demanded money and merchandise. Suspect was seen leaving the store on foot towards MacArthur Drive.

No injuries were reported in either robbery and Waco police are investigating to see if the two incidents are possibly related.

The investigation is continuing and no arrests were made.
