Waco Police officers cleared of wrongdoing

Two Waco Police officers were cleared of any wrongdoing in a McLennan County Grand Jury hearing this morning.

Officers Hans Fitting and Darrell Patterson will now both be fully re-instated.

The incident happened on January 11, 2013.

The two officers were called to the house at 3424 Forrester Lane and were told a man was armed inside.

They were confronted by Michael Ray Hall once inside the residence.

Hall was shot in the jaw by Fitting, a 23-year veteran of the department.

Hall survived his injures but not before being charged with federal possession of methamphetamine along and unlawful possession of a firearm of a felon.

The two officers involved had cleared two internal investigations before today’s grand jury decision.
