WACO - Waco police will now use a 3-d scanner to take more accurate pictures of crimes scenes that will allow for faster evaluation.
The Waco Police Department is the first law enforcement agency in the state to purchase the machine.
The machine uses a curved mirror to scan up to 30 feet away. It rotates in a circle, logging everything in it's path onto a laptop.
After the scan, it takes photos and creates a full diagram of the scene.
“It takes about 15 minutes per scan for it to rotate around and capture everything,” Waco Police Sgt. Keith Vaughan said.
