Waco selected for prominent statewide convention
Waco, TX (KWKT) — The Texas Tax Assessor–Collectors Association (TACA) has chosen Waco for their 2016 Annual Convention. Waco was selected as the host location, beating out both San Antonio and Galveston. The convention will take place June 12-15, 2016 at both the Waco Convention Center (WCC) and the Hilton Waco and will have an estimated 400 attendees.
McLennan County’s Tax Assessor-Collector Randy Riggs and his staff worked closely with WCC personnel in helping to promote Waco to the selection committee of 14 TACA members. The decision to choose Waco was due to the significant progress that has been made in economic development at both the city and county level and the recent WCC renovations that were completed in the summer of 2012.
“We are both excited and honored to welcome the Texas Tax Assessor – Collectors Association to our beautiful destination,” stated Elizabeth A. Taylor, Director for Waco & the Heart of Texas. “Hosting this convention in 2016 will generate a positive economic impact estimated at of over $820,000.”
