Waco (KWKT) — The City of Waco Solid Waste Department says things are sliding back to normal following the aftermath heavily storms in June.
According to Chuck Dowdell, Director of Solid Waste Services, since June 24, the crews have collected more than 3.6 million pounds of brush.
During the mist of the storms, the city responded to 1,527 work orders.
" The rain made the trees heavier on the top and the soil loose. When a tree would topple over we had to use trucks that were only able to put one tree in it," Said Dowdell.
After the storms, workers had to put in extra hours and use commercial equipment to help remove the debris.
As of right now the city has more than 200 work orders still pending.
