A wanted felon is now under arrest after leading local authorities on a three-hour standoff.

While patrolling the city, officers from Hewitt Police saw Richard Mann, 40, outside a house in the 100 block of Coventry Drive.

Mann, who was wanted for violating parole on a felony DWI charge, noticed the officers and quickly retreated inside the house.

Police then attempted to contact Mann personally, but Mann refused and stated he would not come out.

Hewitt Police then called in the Tri-City (Woodway, Hewitt, Robinson) SWAT team to help assist.

The McLennan County Sheriff Office’s Tactical Unit also setup a perimeter and contacted Mann personally to get him to surrender.

Negotiators were able to talk Mann out at 10:54 A.M.

Mann was arrested for the original parole violation and is now facing an additional charge of Resisting Arrest.
