Woman dies after being struck by car, police to reconstruct accident

COLLEGE STATION -- A College Station woman died Sunday after being struck by a car Friday morning.

Police tell us 21-year-old Desiree Vinson was struck inside the crosswalk at the intersection of Rock Prairie Road and Longmire Drive just after 5:30 in the morning.

As a part of their continued investigation, the College Station Police Department Traffic Division will be reconstructing the major accident that occurred on Friday.

As a result, beginning at 4:00 AM on Tuesday, October 16th, east and west bound Rock Prairie road will be reduced to one lane of traffic, both directions for approximately 3hrs.

Right turns only on north and southbound lanes on the intersection of Longmire and Rock Prairie. If you must use this roadway during the time that officers are working in the area, please use caution.
