Killeen Police arrested a 40-year-old woman who injured an officer when she fled from a traffic stop on Tuesday.

Officers were working an accident in the area of Jasper and S. Fort Hood St. when a burnt orange car driven by a woman tried to drive through the area that was blocked by the accident. An officer stopped the vehicle and began talking to the driver and asking for her driver’s license. As the officer was speaking to the driver, she sped away, injuring the officer.

Another officer began to chase the car and tried to stop the woman as she continued to run from officers. The chase continued south on Fort Hood St. until the she turned west onto West Lane and south on Old 440.

The officers were continued onto Circle M Rd, where officers spotted the vehicle on the 1100 block, but the woman had abandoned the car. Officers found the woman, later identified as Hyneshia Darchele Addison, in a trailer park in the 3200 block of S. Fort Hood St. She was taken into custody and booked into the Killeen City Jail.

This case was reviewed by the Bell County District Attorney’s Office and complaints were returned charging Addison with assault on a peace officer and evading arrest. Her bonds total $200,000.

Addison has been transferred to the Bell County Jail.
