A Robinson woman is dead and a man is in critical condition, following a Monday night accident in Robinson.

Jeanne Trowbridge, 56, of Robinson was on a motorcycle with Neal Trowbridge, 52, also of Robinson, around 9:30 p.m. The pair was stopped at a red light on Robinson Drive, at the intersection of Peplow Drive, when a red pickup truck failed to stop. The pickup truck crashed into the back of the motorcycle. The driver of the truck has been identified as Christopher Carter, 51, of Robinson.

The man and woman on the motorcycle were taken to a local hospital, where the woman was pronounced dead shortly after midnight. Police say Hillcrest Hospital notified them of her death at 12:13 p.m.

No word is available on whether any charges will be filed against Carter.

“The accident is still under investigation to determine what exactly happened. And, if there are charges to be filed, that will be at a later date,” said Chief Rusty Smith of the Robinson Police Department.

The male victim underwent surgery Tuesday morning and was still listed in critical condition.
