Woman ordered to pay $1 million in cable service scam

A Killeen woman was sentenced to federal prison and ordered to pay more than $1 million in connection with a cable television scam.

Zequoria Waynette Anthony, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Walter S. Smith Jr. Anthony was ordered to serve two years in federal prison and three years supervision.

Smith also ordered Anthony to pay more than $1.12 million in restitution and a $100 special assessment fee.

Court documents show Anthony and two co-defendants sold fake TV cable services, which they illegally gained commission for.

Anthony created bogus accounts by using personal information gathered from the victims.

Anthony pleaded guilty to the charge on June 19.
