Groesbeck county, TX — A fatal plane crash happened yesterday when the pilot tried landing on a private airstrip in Groesbeck County [1]just off of FM 937. Today, authorities released the pilot’s identity.
Witnesses say the man, Darrell Gene Sorensen, was trying to touch down when his small, utralight-style plane [2]took a sudden turn for a heavily-wooded area nearby.
Nobody else was on the plane and no bystanders were hurt. The FAA [3], as standard procedure, is investigating the accident.
Sorensen was 69-years old.
