Friday the Bryan-College Station Salvation Army kicked off their annual red kettle campaign as well as their angel tree at the Post Oak Mall.
Now through December 24th volunteers will be ringing at the kettles as they try to collect more than $150,000.
"Our national average is 82 cents to the dollar that stays right here in this community,
said Lt. Jeremy Walker. "The rest goes to administration so it's important we keep as much as we can here to support this community."
You can also adopt a child this holiday season from the angel tree at the mall.
There are around 700 families and 2,000 kids in the BCS area that need your help.
