Temple, TX — After an investigation into an early morning robber Thursdayy, Temple Police have arrested a man who was out on bond for a murder charge.
Temple Police responded to a parking lot robbery at 1:30 in the morning where a suspect got away with a victim’s car and belongings.
After being informed that the suspect had been using the victim's credit card in Belton, Temple Police assisted in finding the stolen car at the Bell Oakes Apartment complex in Belton.
While staking out the stolen car, police noticed Warren Randall Hughes, 19, looking around one of the buildings.
When asked for identity, Hughes ran into a nearby apartment where police found him hiding in a closet.
Police arrested Hughes and found matching clothes described by the victim in the stolen car.
“Anytime you have a subject armed with any type of weapon, they should be considered dangerous." said Christopher Wilcox of Temple Police.
Wilcox said, "I believe our victim did the right thing in this instance by just surrendering the requested property to the subject and allowing that person to leave.”
Hughes, who has a lengthy criminal record, was out on bond in Bell County for a murder charge when all this occurred.
