COLLEGE STATION, TX — We all know traveling can be a hassle sometimes, especially during the holidays but an announcement made recently by American Airlines will change that for people flying in and out of Easterwood Airport in College Station.
Easterwood Airport got a Christmas gift they've been asking for for some time now, another flight.
"It's very exciting and it's always been our goal."
In an effort to get out of financial troubles, American Airlines decided to extend its services out of Easterwood by adding a fifth jet and Director John Happ credits this to A&M's move to the SEC.
"I think this is good news and it shows the signs that American is getting healthy again and that's great, we're glad to see that," Happ said.
The aircraft will fly to and from Dallas with a capacity load of 50 passengers, making traveling easier.
"I had an hour and a half layover in Houston," said one traveler. "So that would be great if we could just fly right in here to College Station."
The new aircraft will be taking off on February 14th, just in time for Valentine's Day.
We're told the flight schedule should be finalized within the next week.
