Possession of 887 grams

Waco, TX — A Waco convenience store owner was arrested Thursday morning after being caught with 887 grams of synthetic marijuana back in July of 2012.
Krushnaraj Patel, 48, was booked into the McLennan County Jail Thursday on one charge of possession of synthetic marijuana.
Patel is the owner of Chapman’s Convenience Store at 1116 W. Waco Drive.
At one point the possession and sale of the drug commonly known as 'Spice' or 'K2' was legal, but the drug has been illegal since early 2011.
Patel and his employees had been selling the drug up until July of 2012.
