Waco, TX — Robert Griffin III is obviously a big name in Central Texas., but now it seems the world is embracing the Copperas Cove native and Baylor Heisman winner.
This week, the NFL announced that not only was Griffin’s #10 Washington Redskins jersey the number one selling jersey this past year, but it set the record for number of jerseys ever sold in a 12-month period.
Hibbett Sports in Waco is one of the only places in town that sells them and they confirm the jersey’s success.
“It’s very, very popular right now, said Tina Dorn of Hibbett Sports. It has basically outsold all of our jersey’s. We have customers that constantly come in asking for his jerseys. We’re just excited that we can carry his merchandise.”
In his first NFL season, Griffin was nominated to the NFL Pro Bowl and won Offensive Rookie of the Year.
