WEST, TX (KYLE) — In the wake of last week's explosion in West, the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service has mobilized a public works assessment team.
The team arrived in West on Thursday.
While there, the group will be in charge of working with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and West's city engineer to test and document the integrity of the city's sewer system in the blast zone.
They will also be testing the city's drinking water service lines affected in the blast zone to ensure it's safe for consumption.
The team is expected to be in West for the next five days but could stay longer if needed.
