BRYAN, Tx (KYLE) — If you're a fan of the big screen, you're going to love the movies even more now because of a multi-million dollar makeover at Premiere Cinema in Bryan.
And it's all thanks to the Bryan Business Council, the city of Bryan, Premiere Cinema and the IMAX corporation who worked together to make this idea come alive on the silver screen.
"It'll be the only IMAX between here, Houston, Austin and San Antonio and that's a long way to drive if the IMAX experience is what you're wanting, said Gary Moore, CEO of Premiere. "Now you'll be able to see every IMAX movie released right here in Bryan-College Station."
Construction is already underway and the state of the art five story theater will feature 350 reclining leather seats, in-house dining and a wine and beer bar just to name a few amenities.
Bryan Mayor Jason Bienski says he hopes this new form of entertainment will bring more visitors to town.
"When people want to come locate here, they want to retire here or move here they look at quality of life issues. You know, we've got a lot of wonderful things this community offers and this will just be one more opportunity we have to attract people to this area here."
Premiere's IMAX 3D theater will be the only one in a 90 mile radius, making Bryan one of only a handful in the state and the only city with less than 200,000 residents to experience the big screen.
Premiere hopes to have construction done by early fall.
