Temple, TX — The longest serving mayor in the city of Temple will end his term in office Tuesday morning at 9 a.m.
Mayor William Jones III is stepping down after serving 11 years in office, which is a year before the end of his term. Jones says he needs to focus on running his manufacturing business.
Danny Dunn was elected mayor during the May election, and he will be replacing Jones in office.
A reception for Jones will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Frank W. Mayborn Center in Temple. The reception is open to the public.
