COLLEGE STATION, Tx (KYLE) — A recent audit at Texas A&M university shows the majority of $28 million dollars in course fees lack documentation to justify the charges.
The annual 2012 fiscal year audit showed that students were charged for around 9,300 course fees that go towards supplies, lab equipment, and field trips.
Of those fees collected, many of them lacked the proper documentation needed to show where that money was being used.
Each college within the university processed the fees differently according to the audit, however; university officials stress the audit didn't show that money was misspent or improperly used.
