Waco, TX — Two Waco men are sitting in the McLennan County Jail after robbing a man Monday night in South Waco.
From left to right, Rigoberto Bautista, 17, and Raymond Perez, 28, are accused of robbing a man in the 2400 block of Ross Avenue.
Shortly before 9 p.m., a man told Waco Police said two Hispanic males approached him and threatened to shoot him if he did not give them his cell phone.
The victim gave up his phone and the two immediately left the scene.
The man then called the cops who were able to identify the suspects and take them into custody.
Nobody in the altercation was hurt and Waco Police Sgt. Patrick Swanton said that can be attributed to the way the victim handled himself.
"There isn’t any amount of property worth losing your life over," said Swanton. "These two suspects threatened the man with bodily harm and told him he’d be shot if he tried to get his phone back. So, absolutely he did the right thing.”
Bautista and Perez have each been charged with robbery.
