HARDIN COUNTY, TEXAS (KBMT) -- The Hardin County Sheriff's Office has made dozens of arrests in connection with an alleged cockfighting ring near the Tyler County Line.
Sheriff Ed Cain says the arrests took place over the weekend north of Silsbee at a mobile home just off of Highway 92
Cain says deputies removed over a dozen dead rosters and confiscated an estimated 50 live roosters.
The man accused of organizing the fights, Jeu Sanchez, 48, of Silsbee, is among those arrested and charged with operating the business - a state jail felony. Bond for Sanchez is set at $3,000.
At least 50 participants were charged with class C misdemeanors.
