Waco, TX — Chrysler and Allen Samuels Dodge in Waco teamed up this morning to donate two brand-new cars to the automotive department at TSTC.
A new 2013 Dodge Ram pickup and a Dodge Dart was presented to school officials Friday morning outside the Kultgen Automotive Center at TSTC.
The school joined with Chrysler to produce a partnership allowing the department to work on the latest automotive technology while at the same time graduating students who will go directly into the workforce at nearby Chrysler dealerships among others.
Like any other technology, automobile engineering can evolve very fast.
And with today’s donation, it will ensure TSTC students will be afforded the opportunity to work on that technology.
“Every aspect of these new cars is generally computer-controlled," explained Todd Brewster, auto instructor at TSTC. "So without that learning, you wouldn’t have the slightest idea where to start on today's cars. The changes now are coming faster than they ever did in the past. The stuff coming out next year will be even more advanced.”
The Chrysler MOPAR CAP partnership with the school officially starts in 2014.
