School supplies and back-to-school clothes
Texas — Friday marked the beginning of Texas’ annual Tax-Free Weekend.
Starting early Friday morning, and lasting until late Sunday, stores will be busy with families getting ready to go back to school.
Including the list of items eligible for tax-free status are school supplies, backpacks, clothes, shoes and more.
As long as the single item is less than 100 dollars, it is tax free.
“This weekend is going to be extra busy. We are really excited because this year tax-free weekend came earlier in the month than those of past years. Usually it’s the same week as ‘Back to Baylor.’ So, we have double everything: Back to school and back to college," said Tiffany McQueen, manager of the Target Greatland on Bosque Blvd. in Waco.
Some stores like McQueen's Target in Waco will be extending hours over the weekend to accommodate the larger crowds.
