Tyler, Texas (KWKT) — On Thursday, Major League Baseball announced they would implement an instant replay on "virtually" every play except the strike zone. Managers will now also be able to have three manager's challenges per game.
The new rules will begin at the start of the 2014 season.
Commissioner Bud Selig summed up the new rules by saying it's a historic day.
One challenge will be granted in the first six innings and two beginning in the seventh inning until the end of the game. If the manager's challenge is successful. the team will not be charged with the review, much like in the NFL.
The MLB office will provide replay cameras for the games and the men, who will have umpiring expierence, will monitor the cameras and ultimately make the final decision on the call.
