Temple, TX — A Bell County Sheriff’s deputy is currently fighting for his life after he rolled his patrol car near Pendleton Sunday night.
Adam Davis, 36, was responding to a call of a man displaying a gun.
He was on his way when he rolled his patrol car at a turn on FM 1237.
Davis was flown to a local hospital and has remained in critical condition since.
The crash is being investigated by the Department of Public Safety.
At a press conference Monday afternoon, the department spoke highly of Davis and Sheriff Eddy Lange said they are all keeping high hopes for Davis.
Lange said, "Mr. Davis is more than just a deputy; He is more than just another county employee. He is our friend, and we wish the best for him and his family. And we ask for all the public’s support also.”
Davis started as a Troy police officer in 2002 before joining the Bell County Sheriff's Department in 2007.
Davis, a husband and father of a ten-year old child, is also a well-known mechanic in the area.
