Katy, Texas (Houston Chronicle) — A student was taken into custody after a suspicious device was found at Seven Lakes High School in Katy Monday morning, prompting the evacuation of the campus.
Students will be dismissed early and all official after-school activities have been canceled.
The possible explosive device was discovered about 11 a.m., about an hour after police learned of a threat on the campus at 9251 S. Fry Road, according to the Katy Independent School District.
After initially being evacuated to the baseball and football fields, students were moved to the Seven Lakes Junior High stadium to await release.
