Belton, TX — An elderly man in Belton survived severe burns after his home went up in flames early Wednesday morning.
Belton firefighters showed up to a house in the 100 block of Palmetto Street shortly after 5:00 a.m.
A male resident was able to escape but was taken to a local hospital with second-degree burns.
It took crews 43 minutes to completely put out the fire.
The house is in bad shape with severe smoke and fire damage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
