Waco, TX — A transient was tased and is now in the McLennan County Jail after he would not leave a restaurant in Waco.
Waco police were called to the IHOP at 4th Street and I35 near the campus of Baylor to remove a man from the restaurant.
According to Sgt. Patrick Swanton of Waco PD, as the man walked outside he began putting his hands in his pockets and acting suspicions.
Police then tried to search the man but he began fighting back.
An officer tased the man after he was punched in the face. The suspect was detained after a Baylor University police officer joined in to help in arresting the man.
As a result of the altercation, Joseph Lance Defreeze, 30, is in the McLennan County Jail facing a charge of Assault on a Public Servant.
