McGregor, TX — SpaceX teamed up with NASA earlier this week to test the company's parachute system.

Engineers lifted the 12,000 pound capsule to 8,000 feet above sea level and then dropped it.
Soon after two parachutes were deployed which safely guided the spacecraft down to the Pacific Ocean below.
SpaceX has commercial plans to send people into space but in case something goes wrong after launch, the company wants to have a plan in place to return them safely back to earth.
This would be the system to enable such safety measures.
