Students eyeing the University of Texas may find it harder to get in a few years from now.
Right now, the university automatically accepts students who graduate in the top 10% of their class.
But a new law reduces that to the top 8% starting in 2011.
The university says, it wants to be able to accept students based on more than just class rank.
Some students feel, the law is unfair.
The top 10% rule will remain in place for all 37 of the other public Texas universities.
