bellmead, tx — Bellmead Police Department arrested a man they say robbed a Dollar General earlier this month.
According to Bellmead Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Dollar General, located in the 4200 block of Bellmead Drive, around 6:20 p.m. on July 6. When officers arrived, it was discovered that a tall slender black male entered the store with no shoes, wearing all dark clothing. Police say the man was observed in the store's surveillance footage walking around, taking items off the shelf. The suspect, who was later identified as Howard Davis, was observed putting a hat on his head and putting a pair of sandals on his feet before a robbery took place inside the store. Officials say Davis then walked to the manager's office where he presented a note stating “don’t say nothing please I will kill you” to the store manager. That is when undisclosed amount of money was handed to Davis, and he exited the store. No one was injured during the robbery.
During the investigation, police identified Davis was a person of interest due to him being in the area and matching the description given at the time of the robbery. Davis was found at a local motel by patrol units and brought in for questioning. During the interview, Davis confessed to the robbery and was charged for aggravated robbery. A search warrant was conducted on Davis' room at the motel. Officers recovered stolen items from the General Dollar at the time of the robbery.
